Terms & Conditions

a) Driver(s) must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age

b) A valid Samoan full license or endorsed overseas driver’s license is required. If it is not in English, it must be accompanied by a certified English translation

c) As per the laws of Samoa, a Temporary Samoan Drivers licence must be issued for all overseas valid licenses to drive and operate a vehicle whilst in Samoa. This can be arranged at the cost of $21WST per licence/driver at the time of booking

d) Overseas Restricted licences or Learner licence holders are not permitted to drive in Samoa

e) To secure and confirm all bookings, a deposit of $1,000WST is required

f) Cancellation of booking within 24 hours will result in forfeiture of deposit

g) A refundable bond of $5,000WST is required before the vehicle is released. The Owner reserves the right to deduct from the bond any costs arising from, but not limited to, vehicle damage, loss, loss of keys, late return, cleaning fees, refuelling charges or any breach of this Agreement.

h) The Renter agrees to provide a valid passport as a form of security for the duration of the rental period. The passport will be securely held by the Owner and returned immediately upon the safe return of the vehicle, settlement of all rental charges, and fulfillment of all contractual obligations. The Owner shall not use the passport for any purpose other than identification and security and will take reasonable care to ensure its safekeeping

i) The Owner offers complimentary car washes exclusively at Unalei Rentals (Vaitele). The Renter is strictly prohibited from washing, detailing, or cleaning the vehicle at any other location or by any third party. Any damage, deterioration, or costs arising from unauthorised washing will be deducted from the bond

j) The Owner will provide a supply of approved octane booster at no additional cost for use during the rental period. The Renter must add the full contents of the provided octane booster to the fuel tank after refuelling from empty to full. The use of any other fuel additives or boosters is not permitted. Failure to use the provided octane booster as instructed will result in additional charges and/or deductions from the bond

k) Your vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel and must be refilled upon return at the Renters expense

l) Renter agrees that the Vehicle is in sound mechanical and physical condition unless stated otherwise. Renter will return the Vehicle with all parts, tyres, tools, accessories and equipment in the same condition received

m) Owner shall not be liable for loss or damage to any property left, stored or transported by the Renter or any other person(s)

n) In the event of an accident or damage to the Vehicle, the Renter must report to the Police immediately on (+685) 22222 and advise Unalei Rentals on (+685) 7366002. The Renter is solely liable for all costs of repairs to the Vehicle

o) Renter proceeds at own risk and expense on all private and unpaved roads

p) Renter agrees that the vehicle is to be driven exclusively within Upolu, Samoa. Any use of the Vehicle outside this area constitutes a material breach of this Agreement and will result in immediate termination of the hire, forfeiture of the bond, and/or additional charges

q) The Owner shall have the right to terminate the hiring and take possession of the Vehicle if the Renter fails to comply with any of the terms listed in this Agreement

r) Renter agrees they must not allow any other person(s) to operate the Vehicle

s) Renter agrees to not operate the Vehicle in violation of any laws or for any illegal purpose and that if the Renter does, the Renter is responsible for all associated tickets, fines and fees

t) The Vehicle is a smoke-free vehicle. Smoking of any substance is not permitted under any circumstance. Any breach of this clause will result in a mandatory cleaning and deodorisation fee of $500WST at the Renters expense

u) Renter agrees to not use the Vehicle to push or to tow another vehicle

v) Renter agrees to not use the Vehicle for any race or competition

w) Renter agrees to not operate the Vehicle in a negligent manner.
